Our Northern Virginia data center is designed to support and protect mission-critical Internet operations. A robust, patented data distribution system enables reliable, fast, scalable interconnections.
Location — Every element of our building structure, from building shell and exterior to floors and roof, meets or surpasses local building codes. It is custom-designed to manage and withstand fire,
flood or earthquake.

Electric — The entire electrical system has built-in redundancy to guarantee continuous operation. The overall system is N+1 redundant, including each component within the parallel electrical systems.
Systems include AC and DC raceways with 2N distribution; AC power delivery via distributed redundant UPS systems; Batteries with at least 7 minutes full load operation; 48 hours of generator fuel and contracts with multiple fuel providers.
Security — The data center is guarded by multi-level security. All personnel must use a hand geometry reader to enter the colocation area. All aspects of the center are recorded 24x7 on high-resolution
color digital video cameras archived to disk. The center also has a 24-hour security staff for financial grade protection.
HVAC — To create optimum conditions for equipment operation and prevent equipment failure, the HVAC system continually monitors and provides appropriate airflow, temperature and humidity.
Fire Protection — The data center is protected with a dual-alarmed, dual-interlock multi-zoned, dry-pipe, water-based fire suppression system armed with sensory mechanisms (HSSD) to sample the
air and give alarms prior to pressurization. Production area fire suppression is provided by a multi-zoned, pre-action, dry-pipe system. In order for the system to trip, multiple cross-linked events
must occur, including detection by ceiling mounted smoke-heads and smoke “sniffers.” A sprinkler head must trip for the dry-pipe system to activate. This requires a temperature of 140F at the head location.
Connectivity — Multiple and redundant Gigabit Ethernet to AT&T, UUNET, Savvis, Level 3, Global Crossing and BTN Access.
