Myriad Network Unveils Latest Evolution in Virtual Dedicated Server Technology
July 27, 2006

Sterling, Va. (PRWEB) July 27, 2006 -- In a move that echoes its ongoing dedication to sophisticated technological solutions, Myriad Network (http://www.myriadnetwork.com) today unveiled its latest offering in leading-edge hosting services: virtual dedicated server hosting on Dell's 9th generation servers, located in the Equinix northern Virginia data center. Now immediately available after several weeks of intense testing and almost two years after the company initially launched the Virtuozzo based VDS platform, Myriad Network's virtual dedicated servers, or VDS, provide users with a level of security, reliability and speed previously unobtainable.

"These are the fastest VDS servers we've ever deployed and they represent a significant step forward in ultra-fast operations through our northern Virginia data center," remarks Jeff Petersen, Myriad Network's CIO. "With this kind of speed, users with virtual dedicated server hosting can achieve almost instantaneous load times for databases, forums, streaming media, e-commerce sites and more. Pretty much, if it runs on a server, our new VDS platform will make it run faster with double the power."

Unparalleled Administration & Security with Virtual Dedicated Server Hosting

Unlike traditional hosting environments, which group a multitude of individual accounts within a common file directory that shares the same operating system and applications, Myriad Network's virtual dedicated server hosting platform gives each unique account its own secure container within the northern Virginia data center. This unique container is completely partitioned from other accounts and provides users with up-to-the-minute technology like Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) drives, 4 3.0Ghz Intel Xeon processor cores, 8GB of memory, redundant power supplies and root access.

"Root access means full account customization, unlimited domains, control of quotas and resources and very tight security," says Mr. Petersen. "Plus, our control panels make routine Web administration a breeze. From email administration, adding accounts, creating databases, managing server files, performing backups and more, even new or inexperienced users can perform important server functions on their own with our virtual dedicated server hosting."

Popular Macintosh Site Chooses Myriad Network
January 25, 2005

Centreville, VA (PRWEB) January 25, 2005 -- Macintosh sales may constitute just 5% of all home computers sold, but sites that cater exclusively to fiercely-loyal Mac users can generate enormous traffic. MacsimumNews.com is such a site.

When it became clear that their high-profile hosting company could no longer support their bandwidth needs, founder Dennis Sellers turned to Myriad Network at the start of the new year: "We were told by our previous host that MacsimumNews.com was, in their words, 'too resource intensive.' We thought that was pretty ironic," Sellers reflected. "After moving to Myriad Network, we find that pages load faster, and the forms and search feature work noticeably quicker."

To ensure that MacsimumNews.com would encounter no bottlenecks or sluggishness, even during peak-load times, Myriad Network engineers performed server load testing and configured the Macsimum News servers and hardware for optimum performance.

February 1, 2004

Myriad Network has agreed to host the Web site for a newly-formed non-profit organization, The Foundation for Better American Education. The Foundation, which received its non-profit status in January 2004, was started by three Brigham Young University sociology/business students: Ryan Bloomfield, Jason Rothas and David Stroud.

The Foundation's goal is to raise funds to support public education at a time when education funds are imperiled by state budget shortfalls. "We saw that state lottery funds didn't always go to education," says Bloomfield. "We did this because we wanted to have a job that did more than make us money." To support this worthy cause, Myriad Network will host the Foundation site on a pro bono basis.
